Low self esteem is a common feature in most anxiety disorders and the way it is potrayed in /by individuals signifys a need for professional input of some sort to enable the person to be fully functional.

(1) Fear--A feeling of dread related to an identifiable source which the person validates
(2)Ineffective individual coping--whe adaptive behaviours and problem solving abilities of a person in meeting lifes demands.
(3) Powerlessness-The perception that one's own action will not significantly affect an outcome ; a perceived lack of control over a current situation or immediate happening.
(4)-Socila Isolation--a sense of aloneness by an individual and perceived as imposed by others..
The above could be altered by psychosocial of medical internvetions depending on the underlying causes.
Self esteem can improve ones general functioning or absence of it might limit global functioning of individuals and the public might loose out on the beneficail resources endowed in that person.
